Marri-Mates

Purpose

Merri-Mates is a Christian fellowship group sponsored by the Church of the Good Shepherd. It welcomes married couples, or singles in the 60+ age group.

Programs

Merri-Mates meet on the 2nd Thursday of each month, usually at the Church in Jordan Hall for an enjoyable potluck dinner.

Following the dinner, we have a program, usually consisting of designated speakers talking on a wide variety of topics.

Mexico Medical Mission

As a group, Marri-Mates sponsors a Pancake Breakfast for the Bike Ride, which raises funds for the Mexico Medical Mission each year.

Union Station

Each year, Marri-Mates participates in preparing a meal for Union Station.

Silent Auction

Merri-Mates has a silent auction each year to raise funds for worthy causes within the church or community.

Other Activities

Various social outings are scheduled to many interesting places suggested by members. These have included theatre nights, Game Night at a member's home, Griffith Park Live Steamers, tour of Santa Monica Beach Loew's Hotel, etc.

Membership

We invite anyone new or old to the area to join us any time. We are a caring, friendly, outgoing group always ready to welcome someone new into our fold.
