CHURCH OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD
UNITED METHODIST WOMEN

PHOTO CONTEST

 

PURPOSE: 

To create a wall calendar for 2014 featuring the people and activities of the Church of the Good Shepherd.   The theme of this calendar is “Faith and Fellowship.”  United Methodist Women will offer these calendars for sale beginning October 2013.  Proceeds from this project will be used for UMW missions and outreach.

WHO MAY PARTICIPATE:  

Any member or attendee of Church of the Good Shepherd.

PROCEDURE: 

Submit a photo of a group, event, ceremony, or activity at Church of the Good Shepherd that you feel depicts the theme “Faith and Fellowship.”  You may submit up to 6 photos, but a different winner will be chosen for each category.    Choose any of the following categories:

  • Worship
  • MusicFellowship
  • Interest Groups (book club, crafters, Bible Study, boards, committees)
  • Youth
  • Sunday school / Nursery School
  • Ceremonies (weddings, baptisms, anniversaries etc.)
  • Service/Outreach (Bike Team, Union Station, Ushers, etc.)
  • Celebrations (Christmas, Easter, etc.)
  • Special Events (Trunk O’ Treat, Youth musical, Fall Renewal picnic)
  • United Methodist Men (Men’s power breakfast, retreat)
  • United Methodist Women/Circles (retreat, UMW programs)

Photos for the calendar will be judged on their quality and on how well they illustrate the theme of “Faith and Fellowship.”
One photo will be chosen from each category and one photo that best exemplifies the theme will be chosen for the cover.

Winning Photos:  Winning photos in each category will be included in the calendar.  The best thematic photo will be printed on the cover of the calendar.  Winning photographers will receive credit on the calendar and will receive a complimentary calendar.

 

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR PHOTO: 

Entry forms are available here on the church website.  Fill out the entry form and attach your photo to the e-mail form.  NOTE:  ONE ENTRY FORM MUST ACCOMPANY EACH PHOTO.  E-mail your entry form and photo to the following address:  UMW@CGSUM.org

If you cannot e-mail your photo, but have a print that you want to submit, bring it to the church office and complete an entry form that will be available at the reception desk.

DEADLINE: 

All entries must be submitted by the end of church office hours (4 p.m.) on Wednesday, May 1.  Winners will be notified during the month of June.  The calendar will be available by October 2013.
